Piedmont Virginia Community College is seeking an innovative and collaborative individual to join the faculty as a nine-month *Instructor/Assistant/Associate Professor of Advanced Manufacturing. Appointment Date*: August 16, 2021. The successful candidate will teach a minimum of 15 credits per semester (fall/spring), which may include day, evening and weekend, off-campus, or distance education courses. *Approximate salary range for nine-month faculty: $44,000-$75,000 depending on education and experience*. PVCC desires applicants with a commitment to the community college mission; teaching, learning, and student success; integration of learning outcomes assessment into course development and teaching; use of current and emerging technologies to enhance instruction; and other responsibilities that contribute to the progress of the college. Finalists will be invited to present a teaching demonstration.
* Bachelor's degree in teaching field (Electronics, Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related field) or associate degree in the teaching field with demonstrated competency in teaching field. * Two years of related occupational experience. * Strong oral and written communication skills * Technical experience with electronics, microcontrollers, PLCs, advanced manufacturing tools, CNC, CAD/CAM, programming, and woodworking/metalworking.
