The Program Director is responsible for the overall supervision of all SLU McNair, supervises staff to deliver consistent high-quality service for the McNair Post baccalaureate Achievement Program. The Project Director will be well-informed about, experiences in and committed to the success of first-generation, low-income and underrepresented students.
Preparation, monitoring, and management of budget and compliance with university andfederal regulations regarding expenditures.
Staff recruitment, hiring and training following university procedures to assure full EEO compliance and providing personal leadership to conceptualize, articulate, facilitate and implement program objectives.
Supervises and evaluates Academic Coordinator and graduate assistant and conducts regular staff meetings throughout the year.
Ensuring adherence to all applicable federal legislation, regulations and institutional policies.uring adherence to all applicable federal legislation, regulations and institutional policies.
Formative and summative project evaluation, directing changes as may be indicated to achieve objectives.
Facilitates implementation of marketing campaign, and serves as chief liaison with other educational opportunity programs, media, students, and the public.
Official representative of the McNair Program, and in all dealings with the US Department of Education.
Oversees the allocation of resources for adequate office and research facilities, and the procurement of all necessary equipment and supplies.
Timely and accurate submission of annual performance reports.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Master's degree in education, educational administration, or related field, with a doctoral degree preferred.
Four years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a student support program as well as experience working directly with target-population students, preferably in higher education.
Able to communicate effectively with students, staff, faculty and administrators to facilitate achievement of program goals.
