Under administrative direction, provides medical/surgical services to patients within the scope of the supervising or collaborating physician's practice; assists with specific medical program and clinical operations; conducts physical exams; completes health history summary, documents patients progress; counsels patients regarding their health management; prepares reports and summaries.
CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES May include any and/or all of the following:
Conducts patient exams and provides follow-up care to patients; assists with patient care management; updates physicians on patients status. Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as delineated by medical privileges, including initiation of emergency stabilization; records and presents data to the supervising or collaborating physician; coordinates and schedules outpatient testing to facilitate prompt evaluation and treatment. Instructs and counsels patients pertaining to their physical and mental health, including diets, social habits, medications, and treatment of injury or illness and follow-up care; provides health information to patients and their families. Completes patients comprehensive health history summary; documents progress in medical records charts; assists with communications to referring physicians; attends and assists with preparation of conferences; maintains working knowledge of departmental policies and procedures. Records, compiles, and prepares reports and summaries; performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and experience equivalent to:
Physicians Assistant: Masters degree from an accredited physician assistant program, supplemented with one (1) year related work experience; physician assistant license from the state of Missouri is required; Nurse Practitioner: Masters degree in nursing, Missouri RN license, and certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse required.
