Hospitalist members of the Division of General Academic Pediatrics serve as attendings on the inpatient pediatric service. Service is in one-week blocks and weeks of service varies depending on other responsibilities. Duties include daily multidisciplinary patient care rounds, attendance at educational conferences, and providing resident/student supervision and feedback. Attendings are available for patient care questions 24/7 while on service but have no in-house night responsibilities. When not on service, hospitalists are involved in other activities such as hospital quality improvement, associate residency program directorship, medical student clerkship directorship, medical informatics, complex medical care clinic, and sedation services. â‹
