Under immediate supervision, supports providers (physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants) in provision of patient care. Prepare patients for physical exam/Mohs and reconstructive surgery, dermatologic, and laser surgery. Prepare for the days activities by checking schedules and preparing rooms for patient use i.e. clean, organize and stock rooms with necessary equipment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Assists surgeons with Mohs and reconstructive surgery, dermatologic, and laser surgeries; ensures safe and effective care for the patient population as well as support staff and physicians.
Answers patient questions and provides support as needed before, during, and after care per physician specific protocols; refers patients appropriately; assists staff in institutional quality improvement measures and office standards of practice.
Checks patients medical records for pertinent data; reviews and maintains current patient information/demographic data, social history, medication record, and pertinent medical history from the patient questionnaire while interviewing the patient in appropriate sections of the record only for the medical assistants level of access.
Maintains neatness of work area; stocks patient rooms with supplies; process and sterilize surgical instruments and prepare sterile trays; maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MA I - graduate from an accredited MA program OR at least one year of applicable patient care experience.
MA II - graduate from an accredited MA program preferred AND/OR at least 1 year of experience working as a MA.
MA III - graduate from an accredited MA program and 3 years of experience with certification/registration OR 5 years of MA experience (certification/registration and diploma waived).
