Saint Louis University is a Jesuit, Catholic university dedicated to teaching, research, health care and community service and is seeking applicants for a vascular surgeon in the Department of Surgery at Saint Louis University School of Medicine.
The successful applicant will be an assistant professor in the division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery and work at Saint Louis University Hospital as well as one of our affiliated private practice hospitals providing all aspects of vascular surgery care.Â Additionally, they will be involved in the instruction of general surgery residents, vascular surgery residents, and vascular surgery fellows in our ACGME accredited programs, and depending on interests, may be involved in surgical research.Â
Saint Louis University Hospital provides adult Level I trauma services for both Missouri and Illinois.Â As an academic teaching facility, SLU hospital has 356 beds and 65 ICU beds which has been serving the St. Louis region for over 70 years and is located in the heart of Midtown St. Louis. SSM Health in conjunction with Saint Louis University and SLUCare Physician Group is building a state of the art, 802,000-square-foot, 550 million dollar expansion to SLU Hospital with an expected completion date of 2020.Â There are currently five vascular surgeons on staff at SLU hospital, with the successful applicant becoming the sixth.Â Â
