Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is seeking a highly-motivated technician to work in a neuroscience lab focusing on analysis of neuronal cell types in healthy brain and mouse models of autism (website: http://www.cshl.edu/public/SCIENCE/osten.html). This is an excellent opportunity to work in a highly dynamic environment, with researchers using cutting edge technologies to study the fundamentals of brain structure, how it relates to normal brain functions and may underlie psychiatric diseases in humans.
Responsibilities will mainly include maintaining mouse colonies (organizing breeding and genotyping), setting up advanced imaging experiments, and general laboratory organization and maintenance of databases.
Education & Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in biology or related discipline and experience in standard DNA and RNA molecular techniques and some microscopy is required. A Masters degree is preferred.
Skills: Successful candidate will possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
