The UCI Graduate Division provides leadership on all graduate education matters, working with scholars from all over the world to engage in study, teaching, and research in the pursuit of a master's or Ph.D. degree or postdoctoral training. We promote academic integrity and greater understanding by supplying information, guidance, and support to the campus community and beyond. As a member of the GD Decision Support team, participate in the design, development, deployment, documentation, ongoing maintenance, and facilitating reporting and decision making at all levels. The incumbent works in close collaboration with the OIR, the OIT Data Warehouse team, other teams within OIT, and campus units. Develop and maintain content written in SQL, Tableau, SAS, Cognos; providing operational support for developed content; ensuring that solutions meet end-user needs for ad-hoc reporting and analysis; and ensuring that security and data integrity standards are met for all developed content.
Good understanding of relational databases and being able to query data. Experience with data analytic and query tools such as SQL, Tableau, SAS, Cognos. Excellent organizational, analytical, technical, and interpersonal skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to create comprehensive, well organized, and easily understood proposals, technical documents, etc. Strong critical thinking, detail-oriented. Ability to interact with all levels of the organization in a professional, diplomatic and tactful manner. Ability to work well in individual as well as team settings. Self-motivated and has the ability to work independently on large scale, complex projects with minimal supervision. Ability to successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Knowledge of university Student Information Systems processes, systems and business. Knowledge of university Graduate Division business practices, policies and systems. Experience developing functional and technical specifications used in system development. Experience analyzing and documenting business processes and requirements.
