Under the supervision of the Senior Director, Recruitment and Enrollment Services, the Hourly Recruitment Specialist fulfills a professional role in support of the University’s prospecting, recruitment and on-boarding of graduate students.
The Hourly Recruitment Specialist is responsible for a full-range of activities, virtual and in-person, for the recruitment, enrollment in first course, and tracking of students for all graduate degree and certificate programs, excluding nursing. This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and operation of all applicant and inquiry processing functions; working with admissions for applicant processing and communication; communicating with prospective students; attending face-to-face and virtual recruiting events and one-on-one prospect meetings; conducting virtual meetings and phone calls and attending in-person recruitment events. Attendance at recruitment events will also be required, which may necessitate local travel and an overnight work schedule.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university • Experience in college admissions and/or professional experience in sales, marketing or customer service environment is preferred • Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite • Proven attention to detail; excellent organizational skills required • Outstanding oral and written communication skills; ability to present effectively to large audiences virtually or in-person upon hire • Ability to create and implement new initiatives for student recruitment across all programs with a focus on recruitment of online students • Ability to multi-task, consistently meet deadlines and handle information confidentially • Familiarity with social media platforms for assistance with creating messages to engage prospects • Ability to positively interact with diverse groups • Must exude a positive customer service-oriented attitude • Self-starter and driven to complete all projects as assigned
Examples of Work:
- Respond to telephone inquiries and e-mail inquiries. - Provide excellent customer service to students over the phone and via email. - Manage basic technical support issues to assist students. - Assists with prospect management, recruitment and admissions. - Participate in on & off-site information sessions and events and Virtual events as needed. - Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Director, Recruitment and Enrollment Services.
*Position will be remote based, hourly/temporary, Monday – Sunday, evening hours to be determined*
