Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Administrative Analyst V for the department of Neurosurgery at the Rutgers, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The department of Neurosurgery is looking for an Administrative Analyst V to join and support the clerical and administrative support staff for the department. The responsibilities will include the review, analysis and appraisal of current department administrative procedures, organization and performance and helps to prepare recommendations for changes and/or revisions; does other related work as required under direct supervision.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Assists in reviewing department programs and activities and in evaluating their administration, objectives, efficiency, effectiveness, and suitability to current conditions, costs, and goals, using established procedures and standards.
Assists in the work involved in determining whether department activities and programs are essential and are carried out economically and efficiently.
Assists in appraising the adequacy and effectiveness of computer systems; assists in the development of the organizational structure and methods of operation necessary for the performance of existing, new, or expanded functions.
Assists in the investigation and development of solutions to problem areas, identifies and works toward the elimination of unnecessary and/or wasteful administrative practices and positions; helps to determine where program and/or administrative duplication may exist.
Assists in developing, and preparing plans of organization, and methods; assists with the development of financial programs and policies.
Assists in the analysis of the administrative implications of legislation, as required.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in a related area.
Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Computer literate and be able to become proficient in computer applications as required by the department or unit.
Proficiency in typing and experience with word processing packages.
Experience with additional software packages.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
