The University of Southern California (USC) School of Pharmacy invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track position at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor of Clinical Pharmacy within the Clinical Track. Â Competitive applicants for this senior faculty position will have extensive experience working in the pharmaceutical industry as well as demonstrated excellence in teaching and curriculum development within the area of clinical and translational sciences.
The faculty member will assist with expanding relations with the pharmaceutical industry to enhance teaching and career opportunities for our graduate students:
Serve as faculty advisor for the Pharm.D., MS dual degree program in Clinical & Experimental Therapeutics (CXPT).
Serve as faculty advisor for Pharm.D. students academically involved in the industry area of concentration certificate program.
Expand industry APPE rotations for Pharm.D. students.
Provide didactic teaching to Pharm.D. and other graduate students on the clinical drug development process within pharmaceutical industry, and potentially develop elective coursework in this area.
Facilitate industry internship opportunities for students in the Pharm.D. and graduate programs.
Assist the Director of Fellowship programs with pharmaceutical industry postdoctoral fellowship opportunities for Pharm.D. and other graduate students.
Mentoring and scholarship are expectations for all faculty members and excellence in these pursuits is necessary for consideration for promotion. University service is an important contribution for the well-rounded faculty candidateâs recruitment and success.
Required Credentials and Experience:
Applicants must have a Pharm.D. degree, and have senior or manager level experience in the pharmaceutical industry working in clinical operations, drug development, or medical affairs. The applicant should also have documented experience in curricular development and course management within professional and graduate education, with emphasis in pharmacology and drug development. Completion of a pharmacy residency and/or fellowship is preferred. A record of professional leadership and evidence of engagement in scholarship is also preferred.
