Description of the Center
The USC Student Counseling Services provides mental health services to students so that they may achieve their academic and personal goals. Services we provide include: individual, couples and group counseling; assessment and referral to other professionals and institutions; crisis intervention (including some after-hours coverage); biofeedback; psychiatric evaluations and medication follow-up; consultation; outreach and prevention; and training and supervision.Â

Description of RSVP
Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention and Services (RSVP) exists to facilitate the success of students by providing advocacy and confidential counseling to those who have experienced sexual/gender-based harm during their time at USC.
Through its educational programs, RSVP fosters a better understanding of sexual violence, relationship abuse, stalking, and healthy relationships/sexuality. Above all, RSVP serves as a haven for students and provides opportunities to make change on campus, through its educational programs and peer outreach program, VOICE.
RSVP fosters an environment that enriches the USC experience across lines of gender, gender identity, race, ethnicity, class, ability and sexual orientation.
RSVP provides the following support:
Serves as a safe, confidential space for survivors of sexual assault and other gender-related harm to receive counseling (crisis, individual, group) and advocacy.
Offers educational programs that help prevent sexual violence and create healthy relationships (e.g., workshops and VOICE peer outreach program).
Collaborates with student groups and other campus offices committed to addressing gender-based harm/power-based control.
Â Job Accountabilities:
Conducts individual assessment and diagnostic sessions. Provides referral, short term counseling and crisis intervention services as appropriate. Submits reports to government agencies as mandated by law.
Reviews and evaluates client progress and establishes follow-up contact. Determines evaluation methodology and establishes appropriate clinical techniques. Maintains confidential client records. Reports and analyzes results.
Plans and implements outreach activities and promotional campaigns.
Manages the delivery of services to targeted program participants or beneficiaries. Communicates program priorities and performance standards and assesses operations using these criteria.
Assists in development of prevention, intervention, referral and outreach services.
Supervises graduate student interns and liaises with appropriate academic unit(s). Coordinates hourly professional staff. Provides administrative direction and clinical consultation. Conducts staff development activities.
Develops and conducts workshops, seminars and related activities. Conducts training sessions with University administrators regarding gender-based harm. Assists in design of new training activities. Coordinates and supplements training activities provided by Departments and Schools.
Participates in development and dissemination of promotional materials to include brochures and advertisements for University publications. Promotes services provided.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
This is a faculty position in the Division of Student Mental Health in the Department of Psychiatry & the Behavioral Sciences at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. Doctorate in Psychology or Masterâs degree in Social Work or Marriage & Family Therapy
Must be licensed or license eligible in the State of California
Expertise in short term treatment, including: brief psychotherapy, stabilization and referral of serious mental illness, and crisis intervention â all following a 6 to 8 session model
Resilient, self-aware, and can thrive in a fast paced, demanding environment
Multicultural competency in working with students of color, students from all economic classes, first generation students, LGBTQ students, and international students
Work experience in college counseling centers, womenâs centers, or college student affairs
Excellent diagnostic skills
Demonstrated knowledge, experience, and skills in group process work and training
Foreign language skills are welcome
