Coordinates administrative processes and prioritizes, directs, and responds to business matters involving administrative functions associated with education, research, and/or operations. Creates and maintains associated documents, spreadsheets, databases, meetings, special events, etc. and alerts supervisor of critical issues and upcoming events. Responsible for overseeing day to day managerial duties of the Northwestern University temporary hires on the SPIDER team. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting with onboarding, duties within the SPIDER project, deliverables, supervision, and other responsibilities. Coordinates with the SPIDER supervisor, Matt Jedlowski, to envision and implement best practices, job performance and satisfaction, mediate any issues that may arise, and foster a productive and trusting work environment. This position mainly consists of the same duties of a SPIDER Health Interviewer/Program Assistant II (i.e. database maintenance, data entry and outreach) but with additional managerial responsibilities of temporary hires as detailed previously and in the Principal Accountabilities section.

Independently responds to and composes correspondence.
Creates and maintains standard spreadsheets and/or databases.
Prepares queries, reports, statistics, tables, charts, etc. based on information compiled from various sources.
Determines format, elements, trends, etc.
Maintains websites and/or blogs.
Creates new web pages and/or updates standard information/data within the application’s content management program.
Screens and prioritizes incoming calls.
Responds to inquiries.
Maintains the existing database (i.e. completes updates, adds new entries, deletes inactive entries)
Coordinates work of receptionists, program assts, temporary/work-study students, secretaries, research/clerical assts, interns, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.

A high school diploma or equivalent required.
4 years of administrative support or other relevant experience required.
Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)
Intermediate knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and database software programs is required.
Bachelor’s degree with prior experience in an academic setting.
