The Department of Physics & Astronomy at Sam Houston State University invites applications for the role of Lecturer of Physics. This is a full-time salaried position with benefits package. Contracts will be for one year (9 months), covering the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 academic terms, with the possibility of annual renewal. Up to two such positions are available to be filled.
The primary duty for this position is instruction of introductory physics courses, including college physics for science majors and conceptual physics. The teaching load is (4/4), i.e. four courses for each of the fall and spring terms. Some portion of assigned courses could be online, and management of an associated 1-credit-hour lab is additionally required in each such cases.
Cooperation with the faculty and other lecturers regarding coordination and improvement of the curriculum is expected.
This position will be based at the main SHSU campus in Huntsville, Texas.
