Stanford University Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology is seeking a highly motivated, hardworking and professional Grant Writer (Writer 2) to assist with the preparation and development of high profile written materials for the purposes of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Obstetrics and Perinatal Biology research. Grant Writer will have a key role in supporting the faculty of a newly formed research program which has a mission to empower an arc of discovery and implementation in maternal-fetal science. Grant Writer will work under the general direction of the program leadership in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Obstetrics. Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Obstetrics Division has an outstanding record of scientific investigation: from early pregnancy and placentation studies to prenatal diagnosis and fetal therapy research, to clinical trials and cohort studies covering a broad spectrum of maternal-fetal and obstetrical complications. Applicants should have documented success in scientific writing (writing first drafts, editing, proofreading, responding to reviewer critiques, etc.), establishing timelines and deliverables, and collaborative projects.
Consult with and offer support to faculty in developing their research proposals. This includes proposal writing, as well as consolidating, editing, and formatting of documents, figures, and tables to increase impact and clarity.
Prepare administrative and technical sections as needed, including biosketches, letters of support, and principal investigator waiver applications.
Work closely with RMG (Research Management Group) on submissions, and serve as a liaison between RMG and faculty.
Identify new funding opportunities through prospect research.
Participate in the preparation of manuscripts for publication, including consolidating, editing and formatting for submission.
Manage milestones and track deadlines to ensure timely grant submissions.
Assist in tracking and reporting research program progress to the major donors and funding agencies.
Assist the program leadership in evaluating workflow, resources, and make recommendations.

Master's degree or higher and three or more years of relevant experience.
Experience in maternal-fetal medicine, women's health, and/or health equity desired.
Experience with graphics editor programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and/or BioRendor.
Experience with reference management software programs such as EndNote.
Experience managing and coordinating complex writing projects.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Bachelor's degree and five years of related experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
Proven success in writing for publication in print, web, and other platforms.
Excellent writing, interpersonal, and oral communication skills with proven ability to present, write, edit, and organize thoughts in a clear, concise, and well-organized manner.
Ability to understand materials of moderate complexity and synthesize across multiple sources to produce materials for diverse audiences.
Ability to change voice and writing style to fit a particular audience and purpose.
Firm understanding of web technologies and applications, including social media tools, and current communication trends.
Excellent interpersonal skills and able to interact effectively with a diverse array of people, including senior leaders.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple deadlines.
Excellent time management skills.
Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
Frequently stand/walk, sit, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, and use a telephone, writing by hand.
Occasionally reach/work above shoulders, grasp forcefully, and sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
Visual and auditory acuity, including color vision required.
