The Greenhouse Coordinator (GC) will oversee plant growth activities in the Life Sciences Complex, including the rooftop greenhouse complex (growth rooms, preparation area, sterilization room), controlled environment chambers in room 401, and walk-in chambers. The GC will be a NYS-certified pesticide applicator (trained on-the-job, if needed), and they will develop and coordinate an integrated pesticide management (IPM) protocol for plant growth activities. The GC will be responsible for maintaining clean and operable growing facilities, involving Physical Plant for repairs when necessary, and working under the guidance of the Biology Greenhouse Committee. The GC will supervise undergraduate students tasked with greenhouse maintenance activities, be responsible for control systems software, train all users in best practices and IPM standards, and help with greenhouse supply ordering and systems troubleshooting as necessary. The position is initially for 15 hrs/wk, with flexibility in days and hours scheduled.
