This position is in the Department of Data Management. This position is for the Danforth Campus. There will be some activities that require trips to other university offices and offsite locations.
Under minimal supervision, responsible for supporting the Data Environment including performing data analysis, report requirements development, building strong relationship with reporting leads from various business domain with a strong focus to develop an understanding of the analytical needs of the University.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct data/work flow study and analyze business practices to understand data and analytics needs with in the business domain.
Document existing processes and data needs as they relate to information technology solutions.
Perform data lifecycle activities, including:
Maintain, test, and debug reports and reporting applications.
Follow established change management processes.
Facilitate code reviews.
Develop test plans and coordinate testing activities.
Make recommendations for hardware/software solutions.
Create documents and support operational activities.
Coordinate with internal clients, software vendors and external service providers during specific activities.
Provide, cultivate and foster excellent customer service.
Promote adherence to departmental standards.
Act as a source of direction, training, and guidance for less experienced staff.
Perform other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as computer science, plus two years of relevant technology experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Data Analyst (understands Databases, Tables, Indexes, Queries, etc.).
Report Writing (Cognos and/orTableau would be preferred).
Collecting and analyzing business requirements and transferring the knowledge to development team.
Evaluating and Analyzing data for business requirements.
Designing and executing the test scripts and test scenarios.
Coordinating with other team members during testing, validating, and evaluating new applications and functions.
Assist Data Team with defining and documenting Common Business Data Definitions.
General technical knowledge, aptitude and/or desire to learn new technical skills.
Possesses sound analytical problem-solving and documentation skills.
Communicates effectively with users.

The hiring range for this position is $64,854 - $84,364 annually.
