Under the supervision of the Family Services Manager, the Tissue Screening Coordinator triages and screens tissuereferrals for donation potential according to Lifesharing and processor criteria. Additionally, assists with Lifesharingprofessional/public education, outreach and chart completion as directed. Participates in on-call rotation.
Graduation from college with a major in an applicable natural science; or two (2) years of college courses in the natural sciences plus two (2+) years of applicable experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
One to two (1-2) years of applicable experience in the medical field; or an equivalentcombination of education and experience.
Strong proficient knowledge of Microsoft office.
Must be able to multi-task while collecting and processing a high volume of detailed,confidential and time-sensitive information.
Excellent telephone communication skills. Demonstrated self-starter who is accountable and meticulous in details.
Possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, commitment to high standards, discriminating judgment and high level of ethics.
Healthcare related field.
Sterile field experience.
Medical terminology and/or certificate.
Previous experience in the Tissue or Organ recovery industry.
Completion of a ER Technologist or Surgical Technologist program.
Completion of an EMT program.
CEBT and/or CTBS certifications.
Must be able and willing to work with cadavers.
Ability to work variable shifts, variable work locations, holidays, weekends, and overtime when required.
Participate in on-call rotation.
Must have a valid CA driver's license and acceptable driving record.
