A postdoctoral position is open in the area of aerosol chemistry with focus on aerosol chemistry modeling. The successful candidate will work in the group of Prof. Manabu Shiraiwa at the Department of Chemistry at the University of California, Irvine, focusing on kinetic and thermodynamic modeling of gas-particle interactions and multiphase chemistry of secondary organic aerosols or kinetic multilayer modeling of heterogeneous chemistry occurring in indoor environments. One or two postdocs may be hired.
Applications are being sought from recent Ph.D. graduates with backgrounds in Atmospheric or Physical Chemistry or a related field including computational science or chemical engineering. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Candidates with prior experience on kinetic modeling, thermodynamic modeling, or atmospheric process modeling are preferred. Candidates should have very good computational skills. Other position requirements include solid publication record (preferred to have 3+ first author papers), team work experience, very good oral and written communications, interpersonal skills, initiative, creative and innovative thinking.
Please apply online at (https://recruit.ap.uci.edu/JPF06601) with a cover letter that also describes your immediate and long-term research goals, a curriculum vitae including publications list, and names for three letters of reference (please do not solicit letters).
