TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE I , Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research - Langer Lab , to join a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team developing RNA nanotherapeutics for cancer applications. These technologies will enable the precision targeting of tumors and the induction of antitumor immunity and has great potential for translation into the clinic. Responsibilities include LNP formulation, cell culture, animal studies and maintenance of mouse colonies, protein analysis, flow cytometry, scRNA-seq sample prep, data analysis, and documentation of research results/findings. Will analyze data using statistical methodology and present the data to supervisors; participate in modifying protocols and experimental strategies; research and provide content for presentations and grant/fellowship proposals; conduct literature reviews; and perform other duties as needed. May co-author articles/manuscripts and train and coordinate the work of lower-level staff/student employees/temporary staff.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : B.S/B.A. in biological sciences, chemical engineering, or related field; at least two years' specialized lab experience (may include experience gained as an undergraduate); commitment to producing accurate, high-quality protocols and data; ability to independently manage time and prioritize work to meet deadlines, maintain a safe work environment, and contribute in a multidisciplinary setting; willingness to learn new scientific tools/techniques quickly; experience with molecular and cell biology techniques (reporter assays, cell culture, pipetting); experience with animal work (in vivo) and/or mouse models; working knowledge of techniques in chemistry and programming (R, Python); strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills; and discretion with confidential information/issues. PREFERRED : experience in a research laboratory/research company setting; experience with device design tools (SolidWorks/HSMWorks, Fusion360 or other CAD/CAM); experience with (bio)material characterization (TEM/SEM, mechanical, fluor. microscopy); experience with formulation of LNPs; working knowledge of scRNA-seq Job #19372
