The Business, Engineering & Technology Division at JTCC is seeking a twelve-month full-time instructor and program lead for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) beginning the with 2021-2022 academic year. The successful candidate will provide traditional and hybrid delivery instruction for the equivalent of 15 course credits per semester that may occur during daytime and evening hours; teach heating, ventilation, and air conditioning courses including refrigeration theory, characteristics of burners, system components, electrical controls and motors, installation, and troubleshooting including both classroom and laboratory instruction; and order equipment and supplies and perform routine lab maintenance within an assigned budget. Additional responsibilities include student advising, registration assistance, curriculum and program development and revision, reviewing instructional materials, hiring and mentoring adjunct faculty, program assessment, hosting advisory board meetings, attending area and state professional meetings and conferences, and serving on division and college committees. The successful candidate will lead and manage the HVAC department, which will include teaching and administrative duties during summer months. This position is currently based at the Chester campus.
