The University of Chicago's Department of Surgery, Section of Cardiac Surgery, seeks a Clinical Associate at full-time effort for a renewable one year term. Clinical responsibilities will include primarily operating with the lead robotic surgeon, working with the robotic cardiac team, patient care and related work with residents. This position will also have some responsibilities of taking call, and possibly supporting the work of the offsite affiliated practices. We especially welcome applicants with cardiothoracic minimally invasive or robotic experience. This position does not require teaching or scholarly activity. Compensation is dependent upon qualifications. A generous package of fringe benefits is included.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) board certified or eligible by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery (or equivalent), and 4) have completed an accredited fellowship or equivalent training in cardiothoracic Surgery.
