As a Night shift Respiratory Therapist II at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, you will perform general ward therapy RT procedures including: 02 therapy, bland aerosol therapy, medicinal aerosol therapy, volume expansion therapy, bronchial hygiene procedures, CPR. A Respiratory Therapist also performs Adult Critical Care RT procedures including: Setup/management of continuous invasive and non-invasive ventilator systems, specialty gases, and related monitoring and supportive adjuncts. Training in of performance of Arterial Puncture for Blood Gas Analysis is required.
A Respiratory Therapist may pursue additional training in all "subspecialty services" provided by the CSMC Respiratory Care Service. " Subspecialty" Respiratory Care Services include: Management of Perinatal/Pediatric Ventilator Systems and related adjuncts; Bronchoscopy Assist; Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center RT procedures; RT Order Entry System Operation. Once training is complete, A Respiratory Therapist is expected to function as assigned in the subspecialty areas in which he/she has been trained and adjudged functionally competent
Graduate of 2 year AMA approved school of Respiratory Therapy
License/Certification/Registration Requirements :
California Respiratory Practitioner license.
Registered Respiratory Therapist.
American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification.
2 years experience preferred. Respiratory Ward Therapy and Critical Care.
Perform 1 & 2 person CPR. Lift and carry 25 lbs. Move a H-size gas cylinder-and-cart as well as the departmental life support systems over hospital floor surfaces. Able to physically roll a 200 lb. horizontally positioned patient. Auditory and visual capabilities for responding to cardio-pulmonary monitoring systems. Mathematics skills necessary for clinical functions. Oral and written c ommunication skills sufficient for understanding and being understood by the members of health care team.
