The Yale University Information Security Office is expanding its team. We are seeking a true full-stack web developer who is experienced with both front-end UI/UX , as well as back-end development of custom Restful APIs, applications, workflow automation, and knowledge of Agile & DevOps methodologies, are a huge plus. This role is essential to our continued growth and support of the Yale Information Security mission.
We use a wide robust technology stack including Linux, Apache, Postgres SQL, Flask, Python, Java, Ruby, Golang, React, Angular, Docker, and Kubernetes containerization. As we are security conscious this role will work with secure coding practices such as OWASP Top 10.
The successful candidate will work as a team member, create partnerships between stakeholders across the university to understand requirements and translate the technical vision. This position will work in coordination with the Security Operations Team and Security Architect to develop architectural designs and documentation, in addition to managing the full life cycle of custom applications.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field and six years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience developing RESTFul services and APIs with Python, Java, Golang or Ruby and database integrations such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
Demonstrated experience with custom application/database architecture design and documentation for software development.
Demonstrated experience managing mid-sized software development projects and ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Education and Experience: Experience/knowledge of secure coding practices such as OWASP 10, DevOps and Agile methodologies. Experience developing APIs with Flasks. Experience developing and running containers in Docker or Kubernetes. Experience with React or Angular and programming languages like Python, Java, Golang or Ruby. Experience with server technologies like Linux, Apache, NGINX, Tomcat.
