This position will be responsible for the development of strategy and approach to integrate student, and other data necessary for operation into WorkDay (ERP) and other strategic applications. The data integration lead will craft a holistic data integration project strategy and provide guidance to the team to ensure integration objectives. The lead will work with other members of project, Workday implementation partners, WashU IT and Campus IT Leaders to ensure alignment with strategy. The lead will work with the Project Managers to ensure data integrations tasks, risks and issues are managed for each functional area. The lead will be a supervisor for the integration developers executing the project tasks.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Integration Strategy & Leadership:
Develop an overall data integration strategy, approach and methodology for the Workday Student project.
Lead the development of the strategy with other key resources from WashU IT (specifically Enterprise Applications and Data Management), vendors, and the Workday Student project team with a focus on overall quality and best practices.
Execute any ETL methodologies and/or tools that might be incorporated into the Workday Student Project.
Develop education and communicate strategy to leadership, application management teams within the schools and campus partners.
Manage and adapt strategy to ensure that the needs and goals adapt as the organization matures and new challenges arise.
Serve as the key expert in data integration practices for the organization.
Lead and establish a data integration methodology to be utilized for the integrating with legacy applications to cloud based products as well as the data warehouse.
Develop, establish and delivery training on data integration best practices for project teams, testing resources, leadership, and other project stakeholders to ensure alignment of expectations and responsibilities.
Define the roles and responsibilities for data integration project team and in the organization.
Manage and monitor the methodology to ensure that it is adjusted where appropriate, over time, to continue to meet organizational demands and maturity.
Develop data integration plans and ensure they are aligned with the overall project plan.
Perform data integration planning to meet organizational demand by partnering with leadership, project managers, and others to evaluate needs.
Develop project health reports based on established metrics to project teams and stakeholders.
Work closely to the project managers, implementation partners and functional leads to ensure resources are assigned appropriately and all project related milestones are achieved.
Lead and direct project teams to update data integration plans, ensure accuracy and consistency, and foster an environment of continual process improvement, which is aligned with WashU IT’s long term strategy.
Train and coach team members and other staff to ensure a common process for data integration are established and practiced consistently.
Supervise and lead multiple data integration analysts within the Workday Student project. Develop and maintain data integration coding and documentation to ensure quality and traceability.
Lead project and organizational team members in the development of integration deliverables and validation execution based on the established methodology
Mentor and train developers and other in data integration practices within the project and within the schools, as needed.� Develop an onboarding and training plan to ensure that this is done consistently.
Communicate and collaborate with project directors, project managers, and other leads to identify and mitigate risks associated with the program.
Manage and monitor issues report from service delivery team that are escalated to vendors.
Develop mitigation approaches to risks and issues that are identified throughout the projects and environment for the data integration workstream.
Present/report out progress to project Steering committee, as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree plus seven years of relevant information technology experience, including managing integration activities and/or teams in project environments or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Relevant experience includes leading work (or projects) in the IT industry demonstrating technical and/or business expertise; achieving resolution to complex technical or business issues, and providing direction and leadership to a project team.
Demonstrated skills in project management and analysis, negotiation, systems analysis, leadership and team building, client relationship management, process improvement, strategic planning.
Ability to work independently and proactively.
Proven ability to creatively solve problems and to influence outcomes through persuasion, effective communications and relationship building.
Strong familiarity with project management software.
Knowledge of complexities associated with large scale data integrations.
Experience with conversion of data in to SaaS applications (Workday).
Knowledge of Student operational data.
Proficiency in ETL (Extraction Transformation Loading) methodologies and tools.

The hiring range for this position is $85,020 - $112,632 annually.
