Understands and is able to perform Medical Imaging diagnostic and monitoring procedures associated with small and large animals at a competent level.
With oversight by a DVM, applies clinical job knowledge and competence to diagnosis, treatment, and care.
Provide excellent service to DVM’s and medical team that support quality patient care.
Facilitate open communication and teamwork among clinical care team members (DVM’s students, veterinary technicians, etc.) in support of positive patient outcomes and excellent patient care.
Assist with quality control and maintenance.
Assist with quality control of radiographic equipment. Responsible for notifying appropriate repair person for equipment problems. Ensures equipment is clean and in working order.
Must be able to restrain and handle animals and/or assist with animal restraint and handling.
May teach and perform small animal ultrasound.
Ability to perform a variety of medical and diagnostic procedures depending upon clinical indications and area of service; must be able to understand and perform diagnostic and monitoring procedures associated with small and large animals at a competent level.
Assists with Medical Imaging office duties as needed.
Under the direction of DVM applies clinical job knowledge and competence to the management of the patient.
Perform Nuclear Scans on large and small animals.
Delivers outstanding customer service including (for example) greeting and receiving patients and clients in a professional, caring and courteous manner, answering phone calls promptly, responding to clients, co-workers, and medical staff needs and requests, redirecting calls, etc.
Answers questions and explains or demonstrates procedures and equipment for clients, residents, interns, senior veterinary students, and technician students; assists with teaching labs.
Performs record-keeping tasks related to medical procedures, including recording of: procedures completed, supplies used, patient status, client communication, census information, etc.
Understands, is proficient in, and can teach proper use of diagnostic/medical equipment used in area of service.
Maintains service area schedule.
Responsible to ensure that all services and supplies are charged for according to hospital fee schedule.
Must adhere to VMC safety and infection control policies and procedures.
Must have the ability to work in a clinical setting.
Assists in other service areas; develops skills that are cross functional and uses time efficiently including helping other areas of the hospital.
Maintains a clean environment in hospital area and ensures that these areas are adequately ordered, stocked and that equipment is in working order.
Participates in daily rounds, on call and holiday coverage.
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor, Clinician, or Director.

Veterinary Technician Assistant Minimum Qualifications One year of post high school experience or education in veterinary assisting which includes: animal restraint, veterinary medical terminology, veterinary anatomy, patient first aid, medication administration, etc.
Veterinary Technician Minimum Qualifications Graduate of Veterinary Technician or equivalent program. Must possess customer service orientation and outstanding interpersonal skills.
Senior Veterinary Technician Minimum/Required Qualifications Graduate of Veterinary Technician or equivalent program, certified as MVMA/MAVT technician. If not certified in the state of Minnesota, must be certified eligible which means registered, certified, or licensed in another state and in good standing. At least one year of veterinary technical experience. Ability to act independently with little or no supervision. Must possess customer service orientation and outstanding interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications/Selection Criteria Problem solving skills, strong interpersonal skills, knowledge of veterinary medicine terminology, knowledge of propert restraint and handling of large and small animals. A willingness to be flexible to meet patient care needs. Two years of veterinary technical experience preferred. Proficiency with PC and software programs.
Vet Tech Assistant Hourly Range: $16.15 to $21.40 USD/hour
Vet Tech Hourly Range: $16.80 to $22.28 USD/hour
Senior Vet Tech Hourly Range: $17.63 to $29.07 USD/hour
