The Manufacturing Technology Center (MTC) is looking to hire a part-time Project Engineer for the Virginia Highlands Community College service area. This position will field marketing, sales, and delivery of engineering services designed to enhance the productivity and technical performance of small to medium sized businesses throughout the 17-countryservice region. The Project Engineer is the primary representative of the MTC's services, programs, and activities, as well as the direct personal interface with clients. Provide direct services to businesses including engineering assistance, management consulting, implementation of modern manufacturing practices, and training. Provide client proposals outlining potential services for the implementation of approved solutions and present the proposal to the client for the purpose of obtaining projects. Work with businesses to facilitate positive relationships, and identify potential opportunities for improvement available through MTC services. Establish regular client contact to build relationships. Provide feedback on marketing and delivery status of pending and signed proposals. Collect impact surveys for completed projects. Participate in marketing projects such as awareness events, seminars, and workshops to generate client demand. Other duties as assigned.
