This position is in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Oncology. The position will be training at the Siteman South County location, but then will eventually be working remotely.
This position provides audit and input non-academic biweekly/monthly payroll transactions. Functions as the primary source of recruiting an onboarding all research staff and students collaborating with research faculty and lab management. Provides guidance of payroll and personnel policy and procedure information for staff.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Advises and assists the Division’s research faculty and managers on payroll-related issues.
Provides job titles and generic job descriptions for review to research faculty and managers. Assists the research faculty and managers with preparing job description responsibilities, salary requirements and account detail in collaboration with recruitment and compensation for final approval.
Acts as a liaison between the Research Administrator and faculty with the (PNF) Personnel Notification Form. Gathers account and justification and process (PNF). Follows up with the (PNF) approval for job requisition posting in the system. Tracks and audits PNF’s to the postings and job requisition tracking list.
Upon (PNF) approval, creates positions and job requisitions. Assists faculty and managers after review of applicants and interviews with preparing offer. Prepares offer letters, sends to applicants directly. Upon signed offer letter, notifies the Research Administrator to begin process of ordering necessary equipment and access to labs.
Processes on-boarding by setting up the onboarding dashboard for the new employee. Employee will be notified via email with the link to the onboarding dashboard to complete. Information collected during the onboarding process is then used for the payroll process such as: benefits, WUSTL Key and email address, disability options, certification, license, state and local withholding and transportation and parking information.
Assists with payroll functions for the department, identifies and assigns payroll to appropriate payroll costing allocations, designs and implements tracking system to monitor activity.
Maintains a task list of all correspondence related to position.
Assists with special projects and other functions when needed.
Serves as back up to the BWK/MON Senior Payroll Associates.
Performs administrative duties of a complex and confidential nature.
Equivalent of an associate degree in business, accounting, or a related field with three years of experience.
Prior experience in HRMS payroll program is highly preferred.
Working knowledge of general office equipment, including word processing, EXCEL, HRMS, AIS Systems, COGNOS and similar programs.
Good communication skills.
Confident, good listener, approachable, deadline driven, patient and professional.
The hiring range for this position is $19.18 - $24.47 per hour.
