The Associate Director of Advancement Analytics is a member of the Strategic Research and Analysis (SRA) team and, in partnership with the Senior Analyst, leads the strategy and execution of data management and reporting to the Medicine and Biological Sciences Development (MBSD) office.
Working primarily in SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access, the Associate Director develops and maintains a suite of dashboards and reports that track MBSDâ™s key performance indicators. Dashboards and reports include financial metrics (fundraising progress and forecasts) and prospect management metrics (relationship manager portfolio composition, prospect moves management, et cetera).
Assists in the development and automation of reports that combine data from multiple datasets using SQL. Converts complex data into clear and compelling reports. Produces meaningful data visualizations in Tableau.
Works with internal clients to define requirements for ad hoc reports and data lists and provide materials to support MBSD business units. Provides guidance to help MBSD staff interpret and apply data analysis in fundraising, alumni engagement, and marketing and communications.
In partnership with the Senior Analyst, leads the strategy and execution of data management and reporting for MBSD, ensuring that data requests are created and implemented in alignment with MBSDâ™s needs and goals.
Independently queries databases to pull necessary data elements for reports. Summarizes data elements into concise, actionable reports.
In partnership with the Senior Analyst, the Associate Director works across the Medical Center, University, and third-party vendors to import large quantities of complex data into integrated relational databases. Prepares related technical documentation.
Identifies and implements processes to improve data integrity across databases.
Provides guidance to research analysts, train staff members on fundraising, report writing, and research.
Develops, maintains, and updates information on new and existing major gift prospects, solving complex problems as they arise.
Performs other related work as needed.
A minimum of three years of progressive experience in data analytics and data operations
Experience in higher education or healthcare fundraising
Experience with SQL or other relational databases
Experience with SAS statistical software
Experience with SalesForce
Familiarity with academic medical center environment
Comfortable working in a complex, fast-moving, results-oriented environment
Advanced proficiency in Business Objects
Advanced proficiency in Excel, including experience with Power Query, VBA & Macros, Pivot Tables
Proficiency in Access
Proficiency in Tableau
Excellent quantitative and analytical capabilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work under deadlines and with minimal direction
Willingness and ability to learn new data systems and analytic approaches
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously with minimal direction
