Allen College seeks applications for a Director of the Radiography and Medical Imaging Programs. The start date for this position is negotiable with a start date expected in June 2021. The Academic Program Director shall hold an academic faculty appointment at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor at Allen College consistent with his or her education and experience and shall meet all qualifications of that rank.
The Academic Program Director, under the supervision of the School’s Dean, shall take a leadership role in the organization, review, and ongoing development of the academic program. S/he participates in budget planning and in planning of materials and human resources for the program. The Academic Program Director oversees curriculum review and revision to ensure that the academic program’s curriculum is consistent with applicable accreditation guidelines and changes occurring in professional practice. The Academic Program Director position is full-time for the term of appointment (i.e., academic or calendar year).
Faculty are members of the Allen College Faculty Organization Committee at large and are appointed to other faculty committees. Faculty are involved in the development and evaluation of the program and of the students. Faculty are actively involved in teaching, guidance and academic advising of students and report to the School’s Dean.
A master’s degree in the program discipline or related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher education is required according to accreditation standards.
A minimum of two-three years of teaching experience in a JRCERT accredited program discipline.
A minimum of three years’ clinical experience in the program discipline.
Current clinical skills and demonstrated competency in practice.
Evidence of involvement in professional activity and community service.
Current licensure/certification or permit to practice in Iowa, as required by regulatory and/or accrediting agencies.
