About the Opportunity: The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice (SCCJ) at Northeastern University is seeking to fill an open-rank teaching professor position in the area of law and criminal justice administration beginning in fall 2021. Housed within the College of Social Sciences and Humanities, SCCJ brings together more than 20 research-oriented scholars and distinguished practitioners on the cutting edge of interdisciplinary research and criminal justice policy. The School has a highly-ranked PhD program, a quickly growing Master's program, and a unique undergraduate program comprised of a large number of combined majors with other units including psychology, political science, computer science and cybersecurity, and sociology.
The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to and experience in undergraduate teaching and will have expertise in areas of law and criminal justice administration. In addition to experience in teaching courses related to law and criminal justice administration, candidates should indicate their interest and relevant expertise in additional courses in the areas of race, crime, and justice, or law and psychology.
Responsibilities: This is an untenured, but continuing and tracked position with the possibility of promotion to Associate and Full Teaching Professor, as well as multi-year (3 year and 5 year) contracts
Qualifications: A PhD in criminology, criminal justice, or a related field or a JD is required by the appointment start date.
Candidates should have demonstrated commitment to fostering diverse and inclusive environments as well as to promoting experiential learning, which are central to a Northeastern University education.
Salary Grade: FAC
