Goucher College's Student Health Center is hiring for a part time Office Assistant. The Office Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day operational aspects of the Student Health Center and ensures that patients are seen promptly, schedules are maintained, and the clinic operates smoothly. The Office Assistant completes routine secretarial tasks, insurance and billing, monitors customer service needs and provides input to the director to allow for problem solving. He or she is responsible for scheduling patient care. The Office Assistant is expected to participate in various tasks and responsibilities to help contribute to the overall positive workflow and supports the philosophy and standards set for the SHC at Goucher.
Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalency
2-3 years administrative and/or clinical work experience
Knowledge of medical terminology
Understanding of roles in the office (Nurse vs. Nurse Practitioner.)
Excellent computer skills, including familiarity with electronic medical records, Microsoft Office
Interpersonal skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Time management and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Some college courses completed
Medical Assistant and/or Nursing (MA/LPN/LVN/RN)
Nursing abilities such as phlebotomy/immunization injections
Prefer BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
