60% Conduct research into the cellular and molecular mechanisms of the development and progression of neurodegenerative disease Spinocerebellar Ataxia 1(SCA1, including maintenance of a transgenic mouse colony, tailing, genotyping, primary cell culture, protein analysis, RT-PCR, immunofluorescence, microscopy)
20% Ordering supplies
20% Supervise undergraduate students

REQUIRED(must be mentioned on application/resume):
A Bachelor's degree with specialization in a biological science discipline, or an equivalent combination of education in the specific or related field of science and work experience totaling at least four years. Computer experience.
Must be able to and comfortable with working with rodents.
Hands-on experience with several of the following: immunocytochemistry, microscopy and imaging, molecular biology ( PCR and qPCR, RNA purification, plasmid preparation, preparation of competent bacteria, basic sub-cloning, protein western blot analysis) and cell culture (sterile technique, cryopreservation), and maintenance of the mouse colony is desirable.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Adobe Photoshop and SAS is a plus.
