The Disability Services Center strives to create a culture of inclusion and access to all UCI programs, services, activities, events, and facilities for students with disabilities by forming partnerships with the university community. DSC also provides reasonable accommodations, and related disability services to UCI students, Continuing Education, Summer Session students, and other program participants. DSC also monitors campus compliance with requirements under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act as Amended (ADAAA). The DSC also supports and advise academic and administrative departments regarding accessibility to physical and online environments.
Responsible for supervising the Accommodations Team, Test Center, Transportation, and various committees. Independently ensures smooth running and supervision of the Disability Services Center. Serves as a key partner and backup to the Director.
5+ years of experience in disability services, special education, counseling, or a closely related field required for this job
Master's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
CA Driver License
Thorough knowledge of captioning and word processing software
Strong leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to coordinate and assign multiple work schedules
Well versed on and can articulate and apply the Social Justice Model regarding disability services in Higher Education
Working knowledge of program assessment and the development of student learning outcomes
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
Familiarity with adaptive technology, universal design and other disability related strategies and interventions
Special Conditions Required:
Occasional evening and weekend duty
