Reporting to the Director, Biomedical Engineering, incumbent supervises the design, development and safety testing of biomedical, clinical laboratory, research and radiology equipment. Ensures that the equipment is in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, implements quality control standards, and maintains budget and vendor relationships. Oversees systems and equipment maintenance, repairs, operation, and upgrades to provide the highest level of quality care.

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to write reports and make presentations on operational and technical issues
Seven or more years of experience in biomedical/imaging service industry, at least three of which must be in a supervisory or managerial capacity. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
Ability to use computer software packages (MS office, MS Outlook, work order tracking, inventory management, and databases)
Ability to evaluate maintenance and cost data related to medical equipment
Ability to evaluate equipment service needs and communicate with clinical equipment users on proper device use and safety
Ability to evaluate staff and outside vendor staff productivity and to ascertain quality of equipment support services provided by both hospital and outside vendor staff
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Bachelor of Science degree in electrical, biomedical, or clinical engineering.
US Board Certified in Clinical Engineering (CCE)
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
