Supervises law students participating in a legal aid clinic in the College of Law. Works closely with the director of clinical legal education and supervisors of other legal clinics.
Supervises law students and provides functional advice and training regarding a variety of legal projects.
Reviews and evaluates student progress in handling all aspects of case management, including, but not limited to, interviewing clients, research and court hearings and proceedings.
Coordinates external student placements in public interest, government agencies, and state and federal courts.
May be responsible for handling cases in progress while students are on break between semesters.
May assist with recruiting students for various placements.
Performs other job-related duties as required.

Supervises law students participating ion JCAP's clinics, including record-sealing, juvenile representation, and school disciplinary proceedings. Position also requires direct representation of youth in these three practice areas.
1. Teaches the JCAP clinics and supervises students in the clinics, including their interviews of clients and witnesses, preparation of pleadings, and court appearances.
2. Reviews and evaluates student performance.
3. Handles cases directly in all areas where JCAP works, and works in cooperation with independent JCAP lawyers.
4. Participates as a member in various coalitions and working groups in which JCAP is a member or participant.
5. Prepare grant applications and secure general operations donations earmarked for JCAP.
Education: Law degree from an accredited law school.
Experience: A history of representing juveniles in Texas. The ideal candidate will have also worked with and supervised law students, and will have successfully raised private funding.
Licensing: Admitted to the Texas Bar or admitted to the bar of another state with the ability to waive into the Texas bar
Doctoral and 1 year experience
Requires singular knowledge of a specialized advanced professional discipline or the highest level of general business knowledge, normally acquired through attainment of a directly job-related terminal degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directly job-related experience. Requires professional licensing, certification or registration directly related to the job, as specified on a job description addendum.
