The Mississippi State University Department of Food Science Nutrition and Health Promotion seeks applications for a Dietetic Program Clinical Coordinator. The position provides support to the two dietetics programs that are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND): the Dietetic internship (DI) and the Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD). This position is responsible for the coordination, management, and quality of supervised practice experience required by ACEND standards. The clinical coordinator also assists with the management of interns, preceptors, and community relationships to support the Supervised Practice Experience and works collaboratively with the DI and DPD program Director to advance both programs. The coordinator will also deliver direct instruction in the area of nutrition face-to-face and/or online and assist with other accreditations that the department seeks.
The Department of Food Science, Nutrition, and Health Promotion (FSNHP) at MSU offers an undergraduate degree with concentrations in nutrition, food science, and health promotion and education; the Master of Science degree in the three concentrations of Nutrition, Food Science, and Health Promotion; and the Doctor of Philosophy degree in Nutrition and Food Science concentrations. Both the department and MSU focus strongly on preparing graduates to excel in their chosen professions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Oversee assessment mandated by ACEND for the DI and DPD, including: a. Update KRDN and CRDN data, work with faculty to monitor student scores, and aggregate annual data. b. Follow up with alumni for post-graduation data required for ACEND accreditation c. Maintain records for ACEND for both DI and DPD as well as past and present student records and affiliated schools, hospitals, and other internship programs. d. Distribute questionnaires to DI and DPD graduates for data needed in ACEND annual report. e. Work with DI and DPD Directors to prepare ACEND updates every 7 years for the credentialing body and annually for the department assessment. 2. Assist DI Director with managing practicum experiences and sites in the DI. a. Monitor, revise, and update contracts with collaborating partner sites. Ensure that signed contracts are returned to sites with any required supporting documentation. Maintain database of contracts. b. Manage and maintain facility choice process for placement for DI Director to review in making placement decisions. Create a Course Flow spreadsheet for every incoming DI student. c. Develop placement schedules for student practicum rotations d. Oversee assessments of practicum experiences and completion of DI evaluation forms. Communicate with site preceptors to access to and training for the evaluation tools. e. Review Verified Credential submissions for physical exam and immunization requirements. Contact students regarding missing items, track submission of student documents, and follow up with students to insure prompt credentialing. 3. Teach FNH 3000 Field Experience and be a point of contact to connect undergraduate students with local dietetic volunteer activities in the area. 4. Manage data collection of MSU graduate preparedness and performance in their respective DI programs 5. Advise new undergraduates and transfers students during orientations over the summer 6. Serve as point of contact for post-baccalaureate students inquiring about attending MSU to earn a verification statement. This includes transcript evaluation and coordinating with the DPD and graduate program to meet requirements for both the verification statement and a graduate degree. Additionally, serve in advising capacity for post-baccalaureate students to help bridge DPD and graduate programs. 7. Teaching selected undergraduate courses which will free tenured tract professors to teach graduate level classes in our MPH program and Functional Food Doctorate program, and management of the simulation lab. 8. Other duties as assigned.
* Have a current Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) credential with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. * Hold a master's degree in a field related to nutrition and dietetics. * Have a minimum of 5 years' professional experience as an RD/RDN
Previous Teaching Experience Preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Detail-oriented. * Excellent organizing and coordinating skills. * Effective oral and written communication skills. * Skilled in record maintenance and report generation. * Ability to manage various tasks simultaneously. * Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, and other computer-based programs. * Knowledge of Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accredited programs and pathways.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
No unusual physical requirements. Requires lifting of files, records, and study materials. Nearly all work is performed in an indoor facility. Frequent- External imposed deadlines; set and revised beyond one's control; meeting of deadlines and coordination of related activities are key to position; may involve conflict-resolution or similar interactions. Job requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands. Job requires delivering virtual trainings.
