Description of Work:
The Disability Specialist will provide direct assistance to students with disabilities in setting up accommodations, assisting in the coordination of accommodations with faculty/staff and follow up with students about their accommodations they are using. This position will participate in campus activities that would involve students with disabilities. This specialist will also participate in the activities of the regional affiliation, WINAHEAD and national affiliation, AHEAD.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education or related field plus 3 years of experience working with persons with disabilities required. Knowledge of disabilities and post-secondary support services for students with disabilities is necessary. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent problem-solving, decision-making and analytical skills essential.
Additional coursework beyond bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education or related field preferred. Master's degree in a related field desirable. Additional training in the law, specifically related to ADA and ADA AA helpful. More than 3 years of experience working in a post-secondary institution with extensive knowledge in providing accommodations to students with disabilities and knowledge about ADA and ADA AA preferred.
