Elon University is seeking an ambitious individual to fill the role of Assistant Director of Academic Support and Student Experiences. This individual will work with the Director for Academic Support Services and Assistant Athletics Director to assist with the development and implementation of the Elon Experiences for student-athletes, while also facilitating academic progress and monitoring academic success. Elon Experiences include the following: Global Engagement, Service Learning, Leadership, Internships, and Undergraduate Research.
BS/BA required; Masters preferred
Special Skills Or Experience:
The successful candidate will have previous full-time experience in the field with relevant athletic advising, academic advising, and/or student services skills. Basic knowledge of NCAA, Conference, and University rules and regulations affecting the position is expected.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with the development and implementation of the Elon Experiences for Student-Athletes, focusing on leadership development
Assist the director with training for the Academic Support for Athletics staff in the area of the of the Elon Experiences
Facilitate weekly meetings to monitor and track academic progress, including attendance, with all first year and at-risk student athletes
Monitor daily and nightly study hall
Provide academic advising to student-athletes, including learning assistance, campus resource referrals, major and course selections, as needed
Assist and advise students each semester during the registration process
Facilitate schedule changes in a timely manner, as needed
Provide weekly academic update reports monitoring students' progress to the Director and coaching staff
Communicate and collaborate with the Director and coaching staff regarding specific issues
Meet with recruited student-athletes to provide a comprehensive review of the academic support program and its services
Monitor and review continuing eligibility of all student-athletes
Teach an Elon 101 (first year transition) course to incoming first year students each fall
Continually monitor student degree audits, class schedules, and course requirements to keep student-athletes on track to graduate
Advocate and embrace an inclusive and culturally competent workplace for staff and student-athletes
Demonstrate a commitment to NCAA rules, compliance and adherence to NCAA regulations
