Major Duties: General summary: Manages the maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles and equipment.- Reviews work orders and assigns maintenance or repairs to appropriate staff.- Maintains parts inventory.- Inspects vehicles for body damage and coordinates repairs with contractor.- Maintains records of all repair costs. Consults with departments on charge-backs.- Manages the purchase or disposal of vehicles.- Maintains accurate records of vehicles, maintenance and repairs, insurance claims, fuel cards and other department services.- Ensures vehicle repair and maintenance manuals are complete and up to date.- Manages the department budget including amortization schedules.- Hires, trains, evaluates and supervises staff and student employees in compliance with a collective bargaining agreement and University policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience.- Three years' relevant experience.- Supervisory or lead experience.- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.- Budget management experience.- Valid commercial driver's license.
