Primary responsibilities are to teach in the undergraduate nursing programs in theory, clinical, and lab setting. The typical teaching load will be 12 credits/semester. Additional position expectations are provided:
To develop, coordinate, and teach courses in nursing, as appropriate for qualifications and department needs
To develop and implement curriculum within a team-teaching model of instruction for a baccalaureate degree nursing curriculum with emphasis on quality, safety, health, healing, and holistic nursing
To provide program guidance and support to undergraduate nursing students
To contribute to curricular and programmatic assessment, evaluation, & continual refinement
To provide service to the department, university, and community
To actively participate in department and university meetings and committees
To participate in scholarly and creative achievements
The successful candidate must be able to be on campus as required, based upon assigned duties
Required Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Nursing
Evidence of successful teaching in nursing education
Minimum of 3 years of professional nursing practice experience
Evidence of effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
Evidence of demonstrated ability to teach/work with persons from diverse backgrounds
Current unencumbered RN license in MN and ND at beginning of appointment
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Nursing Education
Evidence of successful teaching in nursing education online, hybrid, and on campus
Experience teaching in high and low fidelity simulation settings
Recent clinical practice experience in acute or long-term care
Understanding of holistic health and healing principles
Experience developing & using student-centered, active, and experiential learning strategies
