The Research Foundation for SUNY's Migrant Education Tutorial Support Services Program (METS) has an immediate opening for a Migrant Educator. This position provides direct academic support and instructional services, offers social support, coordinate services with various agencies as needed for migrant students and families in Cortland and surrounding counties. This position is approximately 37.5 hours a week and will provide day-time and evening, in-home and in-school, ESL and tutoring.
Major Responsibilities:
-Provide instructional support and advocacy services to Migrant Education Program students. -Must be able to work flexible hours and provide, day-time and evening instruction and advocacy services both virtually and at various locations, including in homes, schools, and other locations. -Must be readily able to leverage numerous technological resources to establish and maintain connections with migrant students and families. -Connect families with necessary academic, health and social services. -Implement and maintain high quality direct instructional services. -Must be able to organize and plan work independently, effectively, and consistently. -Must demonstrate creativity and resourcefulness in maintaining contact with and presenting materials to students -Must be willing and able to travel regularly, -Passion for supporting children and families in gaining equitable access to academic, health, and social resources and services;

Required Qualifications:
-High School diploma or its equivalent;
-Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize multiple technological platforms, including email, micro soft and google suite, internal data and timecard reporting systems, and leverage various digital communication platforms;
-Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge and skill concepts to children and young adults;
-Demonstrated ability to work and relate well with children through the age of 21 and their parents/families;
-Reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree;
-Background in education/instruction;
-Spanish fluency;
-Demonstrated experience working with people of diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds;
