Research Support - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Associate III for the Psychiatry department at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Under the direction of a faculty member, the Research Associate III will assist with multiple aspects of specialized neuroimaging data analysis and study management. The Research Associate III will perform various tasks relative to ongoing study activities involving neuroimaging and cognitive neuroscience.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
As directed, performs various research and technical operations relative to ongoing investigatory activities of the laboratory, with a specific focus on MRI research of cognitive and emotional processes.
Participates in the implementation and coordination of MRI analysis, and works with the research team to ensure conformance with the quality standards of the research lab.
Assists investigators in the implementation of cognitive tasks and stimulation paradigms for use in functional MRI and cognitive neuroscience studies.
Under supervision, assists in the conducting of a continuous program of research and development regarding the analytical functions of the laboratory. Participates in the evaluation of the existing procedures, suggesting revisions where necessary and proposing new procedures where required.
Assists with the maintenance of study documents and data including sensitive data containing confidential information.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master’s Degree in a relevant science plus one (1) year of related research experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant science plus two (2) years of related research experience.
Relevant Sciences include Neuroscience, Psychological/Cognitive Science and Biological Science.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience with neuroimaging analysis tools, such as SPM, AFNI, FSL or Freesurfer.
Experience with computer programming, preferably with Python or MATLAB.
Good interpersonal skills.
