University Housing & Dining Custodial Services is seeking a Custodian I to provide safe, clean, and healthy environments in all residence halls. Duties to include:
Floor work including vacuuming, sweeping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing and buffing
Clean and provide service to all horizontal and vertical surfaces including glass, walls, ceilings and light fixtures. Working at elevated heights is required
Clean, sanitize and disinfect all restroom surfaces
Use of commercial cleaning equipment
Trash removal both inside and around the exterior of the building
Moving of furniture, supplies and equipment
Report and communicate repair needs for buildings and equipment
Ability to perform a high level of professional communication with students, staff, co-workers and visitors
Position is required to perform a high level of physical activity including positioning self to move objects
The schedule for this position is 7:30AM to 4:00PM. Will work every other weekend with rotating days off. May work occasional overtime to cover absences and peak periods of operation.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
Ability to read, write and follow directions.
Ability to communicate effectively and follow oral and written instructions.
Six months' experience working as a laborer.
Three months of custodial experience.
Experience performing labor-intensive work in a residence hall, apartment complex, hotel, hospital, nursing home or similar residential facility.
Customer service experience.
Interest in and the ability to learn basic computer and keyboarding skills; including the ability to access and draft email correspondences and the ability to manage electronic time accruals and personal absence requests. Previous experience is highly desired.
Experience working in a diverse work environment.
Ability to work in variety of environments.
