The Director for Diversity and Inclusion will report to the Assistant Dean for Diversity and Inclusion and is responsible for managing and providing strategic direction to advance diversity and inclusion initiatives at the School of Law. The director will help craft institution-wide educational excellence standards around inclusion, diversity, belonging, and equity. With the support of the assistant director, the director will develop, implement, and assess diversity initiatives, programming and events for students, staff and faculty, and provide direction to students, staff and faculty as needed. The director will also liaise with external partners and stakeholders to strengthen university relationships.

Required Education:
Master’s Degree (or equivalent)

Preferred Education:
JD preferred (or equivalent)

Required Experience:
5+ years of professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience in creating, developing, implementing and assessing institutional diversity programs. Relevant experience in diversity training and developing diversity and anti-bias related training curriculum.

Preferred Experience:
Experience in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion in a higher education institution or comparable organization, and working with students, faculty, and administrators in the area of multicultural and diversity education within a global context.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal, organization, planning, collaboration, and communication skills. Strong client relations, problem-solving and analytical skills. Project management, event planning and budget management ability. Strong detail-orientation. Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously, while meeting deadlines, and maintaining high-quality work product. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Research skills. Exemplary relationship building skills with both internal and external constituents. Curriculum development and training expertise. Ability to interact with individuals at all levels and to serve as a leader. Ability to adapt training materials for diverse audiences. Knowledge of presentation and on-line training software.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of trends and best practices in global diversity education/training and assessment and research.
