The Clinical and Translational Science Center (CTSC) serves as a catalyst to support biomedical research projects by providing services and resources to investigators, staff, scholars and trainees, and community partners.

Responsibilities This position serves as a Clinical Research Coordinator for the CTSC Clinical Trials Office at the UC Davis School of Medicine. This position reports to the Clinical Research Supervisor, and requires frequent interaction and collaboration with other UC Davis research teams and research-related functional offices. A key function of this position is to provide support to clinical trials throughout UC Davis.
Under direct supervision, this position is responsible for coordination of clinical research projects for UC Davis clinical and translational investigators and other study teams. Activities include but not limited to study start-up, participant enrollment, data entry, maintenance of regulatory documents, completion of research activities in Electronic Medical Records, orchestrating sponsor site visits, monitoring visits and audits, processing and shipping of laboratory specimens, conducting Limited Clinical procedures. In addition, this position participates in CTSC Educational Program by creating and/or delivering the educational content.
Possess current working knowledge of clinical trial coordination with the emphasis on interventional trials.
Possess current working knowledge of federal & state regulations, GCP guidelines, HIPAA, institutional policies, and SOPs for conduct of human subjects research
Proficient with medical terminology with the ability to understand disease processes, anatomy, and physiology necessary for comprehension of study protocols and for communicating with investigators
Strong analytical skills to define problems, formulate logical solutions, and make recommendations.
Knowledge and experience working with key administrative/medical software and computer systems including Windows or Mac OS, Microsoft Office Suite, web browser applications, email applications, and administrative databases such as UCD DaFIS, and Epic EMR.
Experience with recruiting clinical study participants.
Experience in processing, labelling and shipment of laboratory samples.
Experience in an academic medical center setting.
Past experience as a clinical research coordinator.
For Sr. CRC:
Must possess and maintain certification as a Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) and/or a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) and/or Associate (CCRA) through SoCRA and/or ACRP.
Experience as a clinical research coordinator with demonstrated increasing level of responsibility
Advanced skills and experience to independently coordinate and accountable for the overall administration and outcome of multiple clinical studies.
Special Requirements. Must be able to travel to meetings as necessary for CTSC and CTSA associated business and projects, and for continuing education requirements. Must be certified in the transport of dangerous goods per IATA regulations. Must be able to work overtime and flexible hours when required. This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
