Dept Marketing Statement The Academic Personnel Office (APO) is a central campus unit within Academic Affairs. The mission of the Academic Personnel Office is to facilitate the recruitment, appointment, advancement, and retention of the most qualified and diverse faculty and academic appointees possible. The Academic Personnel Office provides leadership and oversight of academic policy, procedures and supporting systems in a manner that supports the overall academic goals and objectives of the Administration and the Academic Senate consistent with the campus Principles of Community.
Involves recommending, developing, implementing, administering, coordinating, and / or evaluating Academic Human Resources policies, labor contracts, statutes, programs, and procedures covering one or more of the following: academic recruitment, appointment, and advancement; compensation and salary administration; faculty welfare programs; visa procurement; benefits; payroll; training and development; faculty misconduct; and faculty equity.
Under the direction of the UCPath Manager, the Academic Personnel Analyst uses independent judgment to provide guidance to the campus' academic divisional staff to accurately and appropriately process HR transactions and resolve complex HR issues.
The duties described and the percent effort assigned require reasonable flexibility, balancing heavier commitments and responsibilities in one area against lighter commitments and responsibilities in another, consistent with deadlines and the objectives of the Academic Personnel Office.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule Salary Information: $26.39 - $32.00/Hourly. Salary commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.
Maintain an extensive and thorough understanding of academic personnel policies and procedures in order to advise and collaborate with academic divisional staff regarding the appropriate transactional activity to assure that actions taken comply with policy and conform to the University's payroll system (UCPath) workflow and business processes.
Coordinate with academic divisions, other campus offices, and the UCPath Center to correct errors, resolve issues, and update UCPath as necessary.
Coordinate and staff open labs where users can drop in with questions regarding use of the system.
Process compensation transactions in UCPath (e.g., additional compensation) and monitor UCPath employment status reports.
Participate in the development and maintenance of internal training and reference materials.
Participate in various divisional, department, and unit meetings regarding HR related topics.
Other assignments at the same classification as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Analytical skills sufficient to conduct analysis and develop recommendations and provide solutions
Basic knowledge of and the ability to apply / interpret / communicate organization and university policies and procedures which govern academic HR
Knowledge of organization, university and departmental formal and informal policies and procedures and understanding the variances of stated policies.
Demonstrated organization and time management skills
Excellent customer service skills.
Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team.

Math skills sufficient to calculate payments accurately.
Experience using standard computing tools, including Microsoft and Google suites.
Effective verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
