Research - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Associate Research Manager for the Institute for Families (IFF). This position oversees staff responsible for the research, evaluation, quality improvement, and data reporting services delivered by IFF. The Associate Research Manager designs, develops, conducts and monitors tools, statistical procedures and methodologies to accomplish applicable research and evaluation objectives as defined by program goals and contracts.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Supports translation of research into practice by guiding the preparation of technical reports and publications that reflect data collection and analysis.
Project dissemination, including reports and conference presentations, and supporting the IFF Managing Director and Director of Research to expand the Institute's research portfolio.
Interfaces with external stakeholders and oversees a team of full-time and part-time professional staff members and students.
Completes work in a professional manner that represents a strong understanding of research and evaluation methods, and reflect the interests of IFF and its stakeholders.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master’s degree in social work, or another relevant social science field.
A minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional research and/or evaluation experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and understanding of general research principles and practices.
Excellent communication skills and computer literacy.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; including ability to professionally and diplomatically interact with external stakeholders and provide useful, constructive feedback to a large team of staff members.
Outstanding computer skills including the Windows operating system
Understanding of technology and its uses within the research process (i.e., statistical analysis software, web-based surveys and scanning software)
Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands; a valid driver's license would be required for this position.
Skills in project management, program administration, budgeting/financial management, supervision of professional staff, work organization, coordination, facilitation and report writing.
Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Powerpoint).
Copiers, LCD projectors, and recording devices (for data collection).
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
General office environment including light lifting.
