The School of Business Office of Alumni Relations is seeking a full-time Alumni & External Relations Coordinator (Educational Program Coordinator). The incumbent will report to the School of Business Executive Director of Alumni Relations and will coordinate the planning, organization and delivery of alumni and external relations programs, services and events for the School of Business Offices of Alumni Relations and External Relations across all campuses including Storrs, Hartford, Stamford & Waterbury. The position will be based at the Storrs campus, but will require travel to other UConn Campuses and other in-state and out-of-state locations. Occasional evening and weekends will be required in support of program events and activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include but are not limited to:
Coordinating, planning, developing, and implementing alumni, external relations and School of Business events, programs and services including related on-site or virtual event management as necessary for panel discussions, networking events, reunions, banquets, social events, lifelong learning presentations, seminars, conferences, and signature events such as undergraduate commencement in accordance with the Department and School's goals and objectives.
Cultivating, building, and documenting strong relationships and maintaining extensive contact with School of Business alumni, students and business leaders in Connecticut and beyond to promote their interest in supporting the School and the University, and in developing, promoting and fostering positive relations with alumni around the world.
Coordinating the timely design, schedule, and production of online and print event registration materials, announcements and related event planning.
Developing, managing, and promoting the department's alumni and student engagement programs (mentor, speaker series programs, young alumni council, class agent, reunion, etc.).
Continuously updating alumni information in the database, as well as compiling alumni information queries from the alumni database and responding to requests for alumni lists; compiling statistics and generating analytics.
Preparing, processing and maintaining purchase orders and related fiscal transactions and records of expenditures and income; assisting in developing annual budget; preparing cost and income projections, etc.
Implementing the department's social media strategy as well as assisting with the development of the School's social media strategy and curating information/news for distribution.
Reviewing and maintaining departmental and school event and program content on the various school and university calendars, web pages and systems.
Building and maintaining positive working relationships with the School's departments, programs, centers, campuses and student groups to promote support of department and School events and activities.
Assisting in developing, writing and producing informational and promotional materials for distribution to School of Business alumni, donors, students and friends through print and electronic media.
Maintaining positive and effective relationships with School of Business academic program directors in order to anticipate, respond to, and implement programmatic initiatives that would benefit from alumni involvement and support.
Supervising student staff support.
Bachelor's degree and four to five years of relevant professional experience.
Excellent administrative and organizational skills, including experience identifying and resolving administrative and day-to-day problems, prioritizing and time management.
Demonstrated experience and ability to plan and organize small and large events/programs/outreach campaigns - both in-person/live and virtual - appropriate to alumni, donors, community members and/or corporate contacts.
Demonstrated experience cultivating and maintaining excellent interpersonal professional relationships and working effectively with various stakeholders, including team members.
Demonstrated excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to work independently and use sound judgment when making decisions.
Willingness and ability to work irregular and flexible hours and travel in-state and out-of-state as necessary.
Master's degree and three to five years of relevant professional experience.
Working knowledge of policies, procedures and programs of AACSB accredited schools of business, alumni associations and development offices.
Experience in alumni and relationship building in a business school setting.
Demonstrated skill and comfort assisting with donor solicitation strategies, cultivation and stewardship.
Demonstrated experience with programs such as E-Touches/Aventri, MailChimp, Qualtrics, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, InDesign, Illustrator), Aurora/WordPress, basic HTML, as well as program delivery platforms such as WebEx, Zoom, etc.
Demonstrated experience using social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook in a professional capacity.
Familiarity with University of Connecticut & University of Connecticut Foundation policies, procedures, and systems (FELIX).
