DAVIDSON COLLEGE, a private liberal arts college located 20 miles north of Charlotte, North Carolina, invites applications for a full-time Assistant Technical Director in its Department of Theatre. Duties include: assisting the Technical Director in overseeing scenic construction and properties management; managing the Department’s facilities; mentorship of student shop workers; and designing lighting, scenery and/or sound for 2-4 productions and class projects annually.
Salary: $35,000-$45,000 plus benefits, based on qualifications and situation. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree; at least two years of shop or technical direction experience. Preferred experience: lighting design and/or master electrician experience; working knowledge of sound and projection design; carpentry and rigging skills; knowledge of CAD drafting, preferably Vectorworks; basic welding skills. Scenic painting skills are a plus.
